[world_famous_recipes] hillbilly joke
I just wanted to say that I love all the jokes, weather they be
hillbilly, redneck, ect. Like it's been said before, they're meant to
make us laugh. I share every single joke with my husband and family.
Sometime I get a laugh, sometimes I don't, but it's the thought that
counts. I'm considered a "redneck princess" (it's a long story that's
not meant for public). I love Jeff Foxworthy and all the rest. The one
thing that got me the most laughs wasn't even a joke. A couple of
years ago my mother, brother, grandfather and I went to visit my
pawpaw's baby brother and family in Kentucky. My uncle's wife is a
undenominational preatcher (another story not meant for public), and
one of her church members came into the house and yelled at the top of
his lungs "I heard Miss Frances say that her hillbilly family from
Texas was comin' to visit and now I'm here to see the the
hillbillies!!!!!!!" Without missing a beat I spoke up and answered, "I
don't know about you, but I'm a redneck, not a hillbilly, you're the
only hillbilly that I see sir."
At that point my aunt graciously interupted his reply by introducing
us "Denis, this is my niece Anna. Anna, this is Denis, the man who
said he wanted to meet the hillbillies." As she finished speaking the
house erupted into laughter that lasted for a good half hour. After
that, he never called me a hillbilly again. I guess that some of the
funnest hillbilly/redneck things aren't jokes at all. I suppose that
you could call that "The redneck meets the hillbilly" joke if you
wanted to.
Sometimes my husband and I just sit around and make up our own redneck
jokes, I did that earlier tonight. We were watching a tv show and the
son was dressed what we called "grunge" or "gothic" when I was in
highschool a few years ago (six years to be exact), and I looked at my
husband and smiled and said "Honey, I just got a vision of the future,
you and our son standing next to each other dressed as that kid is
dressed, both of you. I guess you could say "You might be a redneck if
you and your dad wear the same thing."" I laughed, he didn't, but I
garuantee you that my mom will. One other thing before I go, Jeff
Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and their buddy Larry the Cable Guy have a
new tv show on the WB. It's called "Blue Callor TV". For any of you
who have seen the "Blue Callor Comedy Tour" video that they did with
Ron White, and liked that video should like this tv show, I know I do,
it's hill-larry-us!!!! LOL. And I didn't write this to attack anyone,
I wrote it just to give my oppion. I appologize to anyone I've
offended and ask for forgivness as Olympia did.
