3 1/2 pounds round beef -- cut in cubes
3 1/2 pounds onions -- rough chopped1
1/2 small can tomato paste
1/2 cup red wine
1/2 teaspoon caraway seed
1 tablespoon paprika*
2 tablespoons oil

In an oven proof pan with cover, brown the onions and
then the beef using the 2 tablespoons of oil. Add the
tomato paste and wine. Bring to a boil and add the
paprika and caraway seed. Mix well, cover and cook
in 300 degree oven for 2 hours or until meat is
tender. Remove cover and cook until meat is very
tender and sauce has thickened about another hour.

NOTES : *Hungarian paprika should be used as it is
hot. You may want more if you like it really spicy.
