I am A Missouri Ozark Mountain hillbilly and proud of it. I could scarcely take offense at a joke that sounds a lot like jokes we used to trade and share when I was a kid growing up. In fact, I thought the joke was sufficiently funny that I shared it with some of my kin who are still back in the hills and they replied that they were amused by it too.
Laughter is too precious to spoil for others even if one is not graced with the gift oneself.

I was born and bred in Louisiana and have lived in the most "redneck" part of
Florida the past 30 years. We all love and collect the redneck and hillbilly
jokes. Guess most people aren't so sensitive about it or Jeff Foxworthy
wouldn't be as popular as he is. I also work in a urologists' office so the
vasectomy joke was doubly funny to me and I have shared it with just about everyone
on my mailing list. It's my feeling we need to lighten up a little and enjoy
what we can in life. My cousin in New Orleans is always sending Cajun jokes
to me. Friends in Minnesota send Swedish ones. No offense is meant and none
is usually taken.
