Buttermilk salad

2 (3 oz.) boxes lemon gelatin
1 (16 oz.) can crushed pineapple in heavy syrup
1 (8 oz.) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

In a heavy saucepan, mix dry gelatin with can of crushed pineapple
with syrup. Bring to a boil to dissolve gelatin. Remove from heat and
cool to room temperature. Mix whipped topping with buttermilk in
large bowl. Fold in pineapple mixture. Pour into an 8x8x2-inch dish
and chill until firm. Cut into squares to serve. Easy and good.
